BEHIND THE BREAKOUT DEBUT ALBUM
From a sketch pad of lyrics in the fall of 2017, to “the talk of the indie waves” (RiverBeats.com) in the summer of 2019, Owen-Glass launched a debut album which earned a coveted Best Albums of 2019 designation from AmericanaUK & Albumism’s Mike Elliot, and has now been heard by tens of thousands of music fans in more than 85 countries. And, nearly two years later, it is still gathering steam—-finding new ears, and earning new fans, every day.
During the tumultuous 2020 touring season, Owen-Glass became known for defying lockdown ‘orders‘ and hosting their own mask-free concerts near their home base in East Texas, dubbed “Wide Open Rehearsals”. These invite-only practice sessions, held in cow pastures, undisclosed private watering holes and friends’ garages, featured full-length sets, psychedelic lighting, family cookouts and camping under the Texas sky. After taking time offstage to refocus and retool, the band is back to their old habits of bringing people together to celebrate life in the spirit of freedom.

One of the best albums of the first half of 2019, Owen-Glass’s ‘The Rope & The Rabbit’ keeps on giving; each song is better than the last. Delicious, hushed harmonies hover above folk-pop arrangements that stay consistent in mood throughout.

Owen-Glass Keep Intriguing Ears on new LP “The Rope & The Rabbit”
There’s a very strong early rabbit theme to Owen-Glass’ new LP The Rope & The Rabbit. There’s the title of course, but the initial track is called “Rabbit Hole” as well, and it feels very much like the dreamlike fall of Alice at the start of a pre-Wonderland excursion into this album.
