To the Nines: 2019
Since 2019 marks several album-oriented milestone anniversaries, I thought I’d feature them periodically for the remainder of the year. “To the Nines” looks back on the ten best albums – no small feat to narrow down – of the ninth year of each decade of the last 60 years, in no particular order.

One of the best albums of the first half of 2019, Owen-Glass’s ‘The Rope & The Rabbit’ keeps on giving; each song is better than the last. Delicious, hushed harmonies hover above folk-pop arrangements that stay consistent in mood throughout.

There’s a very strong early rabbit theme to Owen-Glass’ new LP The Rope & The Rabbit. There’s the title of course, but the initial track is called “Rabbit Hole” as well, and it feels very much like the dreamlike fall of Alice at the start of a pre-Wonderland excursion into this album.
